Helping Children, Youth and Adults Build Strong Foundations in Reading and Writing
At Thrive Therapy, we know that literacy is more than just reading words on a page—it’s the foundation for learning, communication, and confidence. If you or your child is struggling with reading, writing, or understanding language, our speech-language pathologists (SLPs) are here to help.
We provide evidence-based, individualized literacy support for children who need extra help learning to read, write, spell, and understand text.
What is Literacy Support?
Literacy support focuses on developing the skills you need to succeed in reading and writing. This includes:
- Phonological awareness (understanding sounds in words)
- Decoding (sounding out words)
- Reading fluency (reading with speed, accuracy, and expression)
- Reading comprehension (understanding what is read)
- Spelling and written expression
- Vocabulary development
- Grammar and sentence structure
Our approach combines the science of reading with language-based strategies to address the root causes of literacy challenges.

- Avoids reading or becomes frustrated easily
- Difficulty spelling or writing complete sentences
- Trouble understanding what they’ve read
- Skips words or lines while reading
