Family systems-based counselling
The Johnson Family sought family counselling due to increasing conflict at home, communication difficulties, and challenges navigating a recent family transition. Parents reported frequent arguments between siblings (in particular around sharing shared items such as the TV and IPAD), escalating tensions during daily routines, and difficulty resolving disagreements in a productive way.
Their 12-year-old child had become increasingly withdrawn, while their 9-year-old child often expressed frustration through emotional outbursts. Parents felt overwhelmed and concerned that family relationships were becoming strained.
The family wanted support to improve communication, strengthen relationships, and create a more positive home environment.
Family counselling can help families improve communication, strengthen relationships, and navigate challenges together. By providing a safe space for family members to share perspectives, develop skills, and work toward common goals, counselling can promote healthier interactions and stronger family connections.
At Thrive Therapy, family counselling services are tailored to each family’s unique strengths, needs, and goals, helping families build the tools needed to thrive together.
